III
The
XbToolsIII, an additional multi-purpose library for Xbase++ is designed
to provide a maximum level of compatibility to CA-ToolsIII. With the
XbToolsIII, porting of existing DOS solutions which use the
functionalities of the CA-ToolsIII library will become in most cases
just a matter of recompilation.
Multi-purpose library
XbToolsIII are the next step to break through the 16-bit barriers.
Revitalizing your legacy solutions to a new experience on a modern
32-bit operating system, like Windows NT/2000/XP and Windows 95/98/ME,
and gain from the operating system's stability and reliability.
More than 800 functions...
Even developers who never thought about using an additional library can
choose out of more than 800 functions for date arithmetics, string
arithmetics, a complete set of functions for serial communication, disk
functions, printer functions, mathematical functions, text mode window
functions, and bit-manipulation functions and many more.
Why re-inventing the wheel all over again? Why wasting your time when
an encompassing functionality could be at your fingertips? Plus you get
all this at a one-time stop purchase from one and the same company.
This in term will free up much of your valuable time you could spend
upon improving your applications and therefore raise value added
features for your own customers and their product satisfaction.
Serial communication
This part provides serial communication and ready to use protocols like
XModem or CRC. Although serial communication is completely different in
32-bit operating environments compared to DOS, you can write your own
file transfer utility or proprietary protocols to transfer data to/from
remote systems.
Complete set of NetWare
functions
Furthermore the XbToolsIII includes support for the NetWare Requester,
which enables the developer to design applications that have direct
access to the 32-bit NetWare Requester Client-API. Jump on the
bandwagon for this new technology and let your customers use these
features.
NetBIOS functions
To complete the picture, the XbToolsIII also supports NetBIOS. You can
easily use the point to point facilities provided by the NetBIOS
protocol.
No runtime fees
You can distribute the runtime DLLs of the product in conjunction with
the executables you have built using Xbase++.
